Choosing Between BOPP and Foil
Our published label reference gives two families: BOPP film at 30–80 μm with adhesion of 2.0–4.0 N and a service temperature of -40°C to +100°C, and foil at 12–25 μm with adhesion of 3.0–5.0 N and a range of -50°C to +150°C. BOPP is the workhorse for bottles and jars; foil is used where the label itself carries the branding. Temperature range is the specification most often overlooked — a label specified for chilled use may fail on a hot-fill line.
